Good news for Hanovers sweet-toothed residents

Two dessert shops are getting ready to open in the downtown section of Hanover early this month.

Crumb and Get It is owned by Lainie Byers, from East Berlin. She settled on downtown Hanover because of its small-town feel and because lots of people visit the area. Local businesses can use flyer printing to spread the word about their existence, grand opening plans and location.

Speaking to the Evening Sun, she said:

"That small-town feeling that gives you a sense of comfort, which is how I hope you feel when you come in my shop."

The bakeshop will have a soft opening on April 9, with a grand opening planned for April 14. It will serve Danishes, pastries and other baked goods, made in-house and from scratch. It will also offer three types of coffee.

Crumb and Get It will be open weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The second sweet shop to open this April is the Cake Bar, which will be located on Carlisle Street, near The Vault and Timeline Arcade. The eatery is owned by Jeremy Schaffner, from Fairfield and Amanda Wiles, a Hanover resident.

Set to open on April 11, the Cake Barwill offer cake and cookies, as well as coffee from Lancaster's Square One Coffee Roasters.

The Cake Bar will be open four days a week, in the afternoons and evenings. It will be closed Sunday through Tuesday.
