The Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover will be inviting a presenter in June to teach kids about aquatic bugs.
Does Your Water Taste Buggy? is a program organized by Kelly Horner that dives into the secret world of aquatic insects. The presenter of the activity is Ryan Bridge, known as the Bug Man. Viewers will learn about underwater ecology, biodiversity, and freshwater conservation. Participants can interact with real live bugs taken from ponds and streams, and preserved specimens will also be brought to the show. Those who organize educational activities like this can use poster printing to make promotional Signs.
Bridge is a passionate entomologist who has been volunteering with the York County 4-H Entomology Club for over 30 years. He once earned the award for York County Environmental Educator of the Year and was a presenter for the Pa Association of Environmental Educators. Bridge has also contributed to the Drexel Academy in Philadelphia’s insect collection. He even offers services such as black widow removal and beehive removal. People can book Bridge to give bug-related presentations at birthday parties, libraries, and schools.
The presentation on aquatic insects will be held in the library’s Children’s Program Room on June 13th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. No registration is required to attend the Bug Man’s lesson, and the event is free for all patrons.
