The Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company depends on the generosity of local supporters to continue its work, and one of its signature fundraisers will soon be making its return for 2020.
For the past 14 years, this Doylestown area fire company has held its Blaze of Glory 5K, and the funds that are raised through the activity are used to purchase safety gear and other equipment the crews need to perform their duties throughout the year. The organizers explained that much of this equipment has a high price tag, and the support of the community helps make it possible for it to purchase these items.
The race will both begin and wind up at the Plumsteadville Firehouse, and all ages are welcome. Sponsorships from area companies will also be appreciated, and as this tends to be a popular event, it can be the ideal way for a business to get its Logo Design into the public’s eye.
Along with raising monies for the firefighters, the event will also benefit local food pantries. The attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food with them to donate, and this will then be passed along to area food banks.
This year’s Blaze of Glory 5K will be hitting the pavement in Plumsteadville on Saturday, March 21. Its website includes both registration links and additional information.
