This year, event planners are expecting more than 800 runners for the annual Doylestown 5K, which is the largest of the Buck's County 5K Series. In addition to the 5K race, a one-mile fun run will also be held.
The popularity of the Doylestown race is no doubt helped by how supportive the crowd tends to be, and organizers strive to make it fun for non-participants. A ‘Show your Spirit’ contest is planned for neighbors and houses along the course, and dispersed throughout the crowd will be cowbells provided by the event organizers.
The Doylestown Red, White and Blue 5K is the sixth out of the seven races that make up the Bucks Count 5K Series. The races run March through June. Savvy business owners can seize the opportunity presented by the series if they contact flyer printing services to assist them in advertising a sale or special tying into the events.
For those who have not previously signed up, a special registration will be held May 23 at the school gym of Our Lady of Carmel. A race pack will be available at that time and place as well. The Doylestown 5K takes place on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. The fun run starts at 9:00 am and the 5K starts at 9:30 am, before awards are presented at 10:30 am.
