Advanced directives can aid in ensuring that an individual’s wishes will be followed should they be in a position where they cannot speak for themselves, and all ages are invited to attend a Doylestown workshop where these documents will be explored in further detail.
Those who attend the free ‘My Wishes Workshop’ will learn ways that they can craft an advanced directive that will reflect their personal values, and also what kinds of treatment they cover. It will be an interactive experience, and the goal is to encourage the participants to reflect on what their options are and discuss them with their family.
A variety of topics are on the slate for discussion, and these include healthcare power of attorney documents, living wills and advanced directives. A review of the process of advanced care planning and the different options that may be offered is also on the agenda, and tips will be shared about how someone can start the conversation about this with their family.
As part of the workshop, anyone who wishes to do so will be invited to complete their own advanced directive if they feel ready to do so. Stationery printers will be able to provide Copies of these Forms for use during this type of event
The ‘My Wishes Workshop’ session will be held on May 1. Doylestown Hospital Home Health will be hosting the occasion, and it will be taking place at 4259 W. Swamp Road.
