Doylestown residents invited to learn more about local law enforcement

A special opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look into how law enforcement operates is being offered to residents of Doylestown and the rest of Bucks County.

Sherriff Edward Donnelly announced that the Bucks County Sheriff’s department will be hosting its second Citizens Sheriff's Academy early this fall. He noted that the first session was a big success, and this encouraged the department to hold another.

Those who sign up will be given a unique opportunity to see what sort of basic training deputies complete, as well as what sort of work they do on an everyday basis. They will also learn more about the other agencies with which the deputies interact during the course of their daily work. Booklet printing can be used to create a variety of educational materials and handouts for distribution to those who take part in initiatives such as this.

The Citizens Sheriff's Academy will begin on Monday, September 12th at the Justice Center located at 100 North Main Street in Doylestown, and will take place over 10 weeks. All those who are interested are welcome to take part, but there are a limited number of spaces available. There is no charge to attend, and those who would like to register or find out more about the program are invited to visit the county’s website or Facebook page.
