Doylestown event to focus on building resiliency in children

Young children can find it difficult to cope with stressful situations, and parents who attend a Doylestown workshop will walk away with a set of tools they can use to foster resiliency in their son or daughter.

Doylestown Health Medical staff pediatrician Sue Kressly, MD, FAAP, will facilitate the function, and she will discuss a variety of techniques that mothers, fathers and caregivers alike can use to reduce anxiety and nurture their child’s ability to cope. They will discover how it can sometimes be beneficial to allow a boy or girl to fail, so long as they receive support an encouragement to learn from their mistakes and do better at their next attempt.

Those who plan on attending the function are reminded that babysitting is available for children over the age of five. This service is being offered by CB High School’s Key Club and National Honor Society students. The is no fee being charged for either the workshop or the childcare services. Presentation Folders can be filled ahead of time with Brochures and other informational resources to give out to the attendees during an event like this.

February 1 has been chosen as the date for this function, and it will be held in the auditorium of Lenape Middle School. Its event listing includes additional information for anyone who is interested in participating.
