Doylestown classes introduce nature to curious kids

A Doylestown institution that believes it is never too early to develop a love of nature invites little ones and their grown-ups to come out and explore the great outdoors this winter.

Babies and toddlers between 9 and 23 months old who take part in one of the “Babes in the Woods” classes offered by the Peace Valley Nature Center will have a chance to get close to nature in a hands-on way. They will experience the sights, sounds, and smells that are part of spending time in the woods, and as many of the participants will be a stroller, the group will use trials that can accommodate them

While the group enjoys exploring the trails, both the kids and adults alike can socialize and build connections. There is space for up to five children in each session, and at least three are needed for the event to take place.

The babies and toddlers who attend this sort of event tend to be very curious and eager to learn. Supplying them with “Nature Learning Kits” that include activity sheets, promotional Pens, coloring Books and other items can give them a way to keep on making new discoveries about nature even once the session is over.

Peace Valley Nature Center will be hosting its Babes in the Woods program on January 8, 15, 22, and 29. More information for those who are interested can be found on its Patch listing.
