A joint news release from the two organizations stated that their goal was to:
"…create a comprehensive, integrated health system that will offer high-quality, essential health care service to patients throughout Oregon, the Pacific Northwest and beyond."
Once the merger is complete, the new organization will employ over 32,000 people across more than 100 location, including those employed at 10 hospitals. This will make it the Portland area’s largest employer.
Hospitals and other healthcare facilities turn to Print shops for a number of Stationery and marketing materials, including Promotional Products.
The agreement in part states that once the merger has taken place, OHSU will extend a capital commitment over the following 10 years in the amount of $1bn. This money will be used to expand the services of the new combined organization over those the two separate entities were able to offer.
For its part, Legacy had committed to directing its net cash and investments toward a new independent foundation dedicated to “address critical community health care needs and disparities.”
Word for both organizations is that they expect to finalize the terms of the merger in the next few months with a closing expected to take place in 2024.
