Bigger footprint for Lake Oswegos 2021 Art in the Park

A popular area event just about 10 miles from downtown Portland, the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts will be held this year with just a few changes to its Art in the Park in deference to COVID-19.

Art in the Park is a juried booth show that has historically been held in George Rogers Park. This year a two-day sales event held on June 26 and 27 will showcase the event. The participating artists will be scattered throughout the park to better accommodate social distancing protocols.

Banner printing services are often called upon to ensure visitors unfamiliar with an event venue find their way.

An impressive array of categories will be available for artists that produce handmade, original fine arts and crafts to enter. Some of the categories are the tradition ones everyone is familiar with such as Sculpture, Painting, Photography, Glass, and Ceramics. Among the more artisan categories available are Woodworking, Jewelry, Leather Craft, Functional Metal Work, and Musical Instruments as well as a Fiber-Wearable and Fiber Decorative.

In line with the event’s long-standing traditions of promoting up-and-coming artists, categories in Emerging Artists, New Media, and both 2D and 3D Mixed Media have been included.

A jury of arts professionals reviews all applicants for Art in the Park, basing its selection on personal voice, technical skill, originality and booth presentation.
