There will be a number of goings-on this Independence Day in Central Point.
The day will start off with a pancake breakfast right before the Run4Freedom 5K race. The race will begin at 7:30 am and the participation fee is $15 for everyone aged 17 and over. Ribbons will be awarded for the top three finishers. There will also be a one-mile kids’ fun run which costs $5 to enter. To find out more, contact Jennifer Boardman at 541-664-3321 x263.
The parade will take place after this on Pine Street from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. It will then be followed by a family festival at Robert Pfaff Park, which is set to feature lots of activities and musical entertainment.
The last event of the day will be Red, White and Boom at the Jackson County Fairgrounds from 5:00 – 11:00 PM. It is presented by the Chamber of Medford/Jackson County. It will consist of a beer garden, kids’ area and music from local artists such as the Frankie Hernandez Band. It will finish off with a fireworks spectacular that is the largest in Southern Oregon. No doubt this event will attract many Medford residents. Organizers will probably be distributing Flyers throughout the area to help spread the word. Unless otherwise noted, these events are free of charge.
