Quilting is an activity that has been practiced for centuries, and a Medford activity will bring this artform into the 21st Century.
The Mountain Stars Quilters Guild has scheduled its biennial Quilt Show for this coming June, and it will showcase the creative talents of area sewists for two days. As a salute to area dads, men will be admitted free of charge on both days, and general admission tickets are $8.00.
The theme of this year is “The Spirit to Create,” and at least 200 quilts will be on display. Some will follow traditional patterns while others will have been crafted by guild members themselves. Featured quilters will be giving live demonstrations, and everyone will be able to do some shopping in the vendor area. Door prizes and other draws will take place, and a special fundraiser will be held for the Women’s Crisis Support Team, where the prize will be a handmade quilt.
Events geared towards a specific hobby can be popular, and they often offer an introduction to the pastime for the general public. A poster printing company can provide a variety of marketing options for a special event.
