Car buffs will soon be treated to a Medford event that will give vehicles made before the 1980s their day in the sun.
The ‘79 or Older Show and Shine is expected to include at least 500 cars, trucks, and other vehicles, and the public is invited to come out and admire these classics. Admission is free, and registration for the exhibitors starts at $40 each.
The competition will be judged by the Medford Cruise Judging Team, and awards will be presented to the top four entries in several different categories. These include Sports Cars, Hot Rods, Fords, MOPAR, and GM/Chevy, and from these, the judges will choose their Best in Class. One of these will then go on to receive the Best in Show award, which is the top prize for the occasion.
To thank the competitors for their participation, the contestants will each receive a dash plaque with a custom graphic design, as well as a T-shirt and other perks. The festivities are set to take place at Fichtner-Mainwaring Park, and all ages are welcome to enjoy the day.
Everyone who registers their vehicle for this show, which will be held on August 28, can arrive starting at 7:30 am. The function will open to the public at 10:00 am, drawing to a close at 4:00 pm.
