Originating in Mexico, poinsettias have come to be a cherished part of the holiday season for many, and a Medford area greenhouse is set to feature these festive plants.
Ashland Greenhouses will be opening its doors to the public for its annual Poinsettia Festival. It will be a fun chance to stock up on holiday gifts and supplies, and Santa himself will be stopping by.
While the bracts of the poinsettia flowers may originally have been red, they now come in a wide variety of shades, and the festival will be showcasing thousands of these plants. This experience will be accompanied by festive seasonal music, and hot beverages will be poured.
Along with the flowering plants, attendees can show some love to local vendors by purchasing some holiday gifts. A photo station is in the works, and Santa will be arriving for photo ops from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Before everyone who enjoys the festivities heads for home, they will be able to enter their name into the raffle draw. Businesses often hold prize draws as part of their holiday celebration, and Corporate Gifts, coupon cards, and other items may all be offered as prizes.
The team at Ashland Greenhouses will be offering a warm welcome (since the venue is heated) to the public for this special event. It will take place on Saturday, December 2.
