Medford is proud of its thriving agricultural sector, and a local lavender farm will soon be opening its gates to members of the public so they can enjoy its floral beauty.
Dos Mariposas Vineyards and Lavender Farm will be one of the agricultural venues hosting festivals this summer. It has two on its agenda, both of which will make homegrown lavender the star of the show.
The farm grows several cultivars of lavender, and attendees will be invited to view them and learn what makes them different. They can head to the fields to pick some for themselves, and there will be an assortment of products on offer for purchase that incorporate this well-loved plant. They can view a demonstration of the process of distilling essential oil from the plant. Food trucks and live music are both on the agenda, and wine will be available as well.
