Medford cruise to be community celebration
More than 400 vehicles will be heading to Medford for a June cruise that will make its way through the city’s downtown core.
The whole family may enjoy the fun on four wheels that will be on offer as part of the city’s Downtown Cruise. It is free to attend as a spectator, and the cost to register a vehicle before May 3 is $40. After that date, it goes up to $50.
Entries will make their way along Central Avenue, First Street, 6th Street, and West Main Street in a circular route, and the check-in area will be set up at High Roads Auto. The Cruise will last for three hours, and prizes will be presented to the top entries. The activity is part of a larger day that will also include a Show and Shine. Dash plaques and awards may be presented as part of a car show, which can be prepared by a local company that crafts customized corporate gifts.
While this celebration of vehicles is intended to be a great time, it will also have a higher purpose. It will raise money for youth programming in the local area. To date, more than $560,000 has been raised through this annual event.
This kick off to the summer cruising season is scheduled for June 17. The vehicle will take to the street starting at 5:00 pm
