Medford companies that handle and ship hazardous materials as part of their business are required to ensure that their employees have adequate hazmat training. A local company can supply this learning, and it will be offering a course at the end of this coming June.
DOT Training Solutions has prepared a hazmat training day for those who load and unload dangerous materials, and it is also a requirement for those who drive trucks carrying these substances and anyone else who is designated as being a “hazmat employee”. Registration for the daylong class is $325, and the training will be split into two components.
During the first part of the day, the students will learn about the North American Response Guidebook and how to use it in response to an emergency, They will also learn about the nine classes of hazardous materials, loading and unloading them, security awareness, incident reporting, and many other topics. This will continue on into the afternoon.
At the end of the event, those who complete the training will receive two different certificates. They will be given both the DOT Hazmat safety and security awareness training and also the Certificate of Completion for use of the Emergency Response Guidebook. Print shops can supply custom items like these along with any other materials needed to help the students make the most of a workshop like this.
Those who register for this class, which will be offered on June 25 at 2010 Hospitality Way, will walk away knowing how to safely handle hazardous materials. It is scheduled to start at 8:00 am sharp.
