Master gardeners help visitors get ready for growing season

The 36th annual Spring Garden Fair is coming up early this May in nearby Central Point. It is presented by the Jackson County Master Gardener Association.

With more than 150 exhibitors taking part in the fair, it is expected to include vendors selling plants and flowers, companies providing landscaping and other services, local gardening groups offering information, and those showcasing garden accessories. Arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of handmade items, such as jewelry, clothing, and works of art.

There will also be lots of activities for children, as well as free testing of water for nitrates. Classes will be led by master gardeners and will be free to attend. No doubt there will be information about planting, growing specific plants and getting the garden ready for the growing season.

It is likely that many of the exhibitors will come from various nearby communities such as Medford. They may also decide to invest in services such as banner printing to bring more attention to their booths.

The Spring Garden Fair is being held at the Jackson County Expo on May 2 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $3 each and free for children aged 15 and younger. To find out more about the event, contact Victor Chieco at 541-776-7371.
