Residents of Medford who have always wanted to try their hand at crafting pottery but are unsure how to start may want to be part of an afternoon hosted by Common Block Brewing Company.
The brewery has partnered with Paint and Sip Pottery to offer a special event to the public. Those who purchase a ticket for the occasion will each craft their own customized pottery cup, and the instruction, materials and friendly atmosphere are all included in the ticket price.
The group will be creating their pieces using sgraffito techniques, which originated in Italy centuries ago. All skill levels are welcome, and each participant will create a unique piece they can use and display. At the end of the class, they will be picked up for firing, and once this step is complete, they will be both microwave and dishwasher safe.
The instruction will begin at 2:00 pm, and if the ticket holders arrive early, they can purchase a drink and some food and socialize while they wait for everyone to arrive. The organizer has noted that he also facilitates other events, and a business card printing company can supply material the host of a function like this can use to share their contact details.
Common Block Brewing Company will be welcoming guests for this event on July 28. Tickets start at $40 each.
