Medford veterans, as well as their family, friends and other supporters, have an insider’s view of how mental health concerns can impact former service members. This will be the focus of a public forum that has been scheduled for mid-September, and all stakeholders are welcome.
The organizers of the Veteran Strong symposium know that the support of the community can make a big difference to a vet who is living with PTSD or other mental health concerns, and this is what the event will be all about. It will include presentations, break out sessions and a luncheon, and at the end of the day, the hope is that all the participants will walk away better informed and with a toolkit of resources they can call on.
The organizers of the function explained that one of the important goals of the day is to help reduce the stigma around mental illness.
