March Chamber luncheon scheduled

The Westerville Chamber of Commerce has a luncheon coming up that will be of interest to anyone interested in dealing with the government.

The United States government is the world's largest purchaser of services and goods, but applying for and winning a bid can be a complex process. The upcoming event will help attendees learn how to become more efficient at bidding, overcome obstacles and challenges, increase the number of bids they win, and stop unnecessary repetition. Bidding work often involves printing services as copies of Brochures are often required for all stakeholders.

The material at the luncheon will be presented by Dorinda Byers, who is with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at Ohio University. She will discuss ways in which people soliciting work from the government can streamline their attempts, leading to success in winning the bid.

Byers will use a solicitation from real life, and go through a step-by-step process to prepare a winning response. Further examples from the real world will be used. Attendees will learn the building blocks of winning proposals; and how to avoid common mistakes in developing proposals. With the guidance provided, bidders should be able to avoid having their proposal rejected for non-compliance.

The Chamber Lunch & Learn - How to Win a Government Contract meeting will be held virtually on March 16, from 12.00 pm until 1.00 pm. Further information will be provided once participants register.
