A creative activity is set to be held in Mentor in late September.
Cory Manley is the artist behind Grass Root Designs LLC. Based in the city of Cleveland, Manley creates and sells his own artwork, in addition to teaching different classes in surrounding businesses and schools to help people embrace their creative sides.
This particular class is titled Nightmare Before Xmas Mickey, and is a part of the Paint & Sip series. Guests will be able to learn several painting techniques while they enjoy drinks and food as they work. In the end, an image depicting a pair of popular characters in silhouette on a Halloween-themed backdrop will be on the piece of wood each person is given. The wood is cut into the shape of a Mickey Mouse head.
The venue for this event is Mentor Brewing Company, where beverages include wine, beer, seltzer, and ciders. Each flavor of these products is made right in the building. While there is no menu, snacks like jerky and popcorn are offered. People are also allowed to order or bring their own food. Staff can recommend a list of places that will send deliveries to the door, including a pizza parlor just 100 feet away.
Cost to participate in the activity is $45.77 with fees included. Tickets can be bought through Eventbrite. Flyer printing is often used in order to promote similar events. The lesson will last from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on September 21.
