Seasonal art event to take place in Mentor

A creative experience is set to take place in Mentor in late November.

Light Me Up Holiday Gnomes is an interactive class where participants will get to create their own piece of artwork. The image depicts a quartet of loveable gnomes each in a different colored hat standing on a blue backdrop. Each character is also holding a different item associated with the Christmas season, which include a star, a present, an ornament, and a ball of colorful Christmas lights. An additional light string is also wrapped around their hats. If the painter chooses, some working lights can be put on to add to the overall spirited feeling of the experience and the finished piece.

The lesson is put on by Rachel Sandor and her company The Dirty Palette. Her goal is to create a relaxed and fun environment for attendees to enjoy themselves while making something unique.

Drinks and food will both be available to buy at an additional cost. Tickets can be booked through The Dirty Palette’s website for $35. Materials for the paintings will be provided, including the 10”x20” canvas and an apron. Flyer printing is often used in promotion of similar activities.

The venue is Gunny’s Hall at the Col. Justice M. Chambers Marine Corps League Detachment 555. The event will start at 2:30 pm and run for about two hours on Sunday, November 20.
