Painesville’s Art in the Park is making a comeback for another event this month in Veteran’s Park.
Veteran’s Park is located in Painesville’s Downtown Area. Many craft makers and artists from all over the state will be coming down to take the opportunity to show off their latest and greatest works. The event will provide plenty of entertainment for people from Mentor and the surrounding areas.
Art in the Park is becoming a local tradition during the summer months. Veteran’s Park hosts several other community events such a farmer’s markets and car boot sales but Art in the Park is a one-of-a-kind event. From this year onwards, the event will be led by Bethany Homrighaus.
The City of Painesville hosted the show’s previous editions. The city handed over the responsibility to the DPO (Downtown Painesville Organization), of which Homrighaus is a member. Homrighaus volunteered to be the one who organizes 2019’s Art in the Park because she feels that she is uniquely qualified for the position.
Homrighaus stated that she wishes to make the art show follow the same formula as in the past, but with a few slight changes. As an artist herself, she is able to tweak things in a manner that other artists are sure to appreciate. She also runs her own shop and understands how important such events are for vendors. Vendors and owners from small shops tend to use such events as opportunities to hand out Promotional Products and Business Cards.
Demand for the vendor spots is high. 90 applications were put in for the event’s 60 available positions. Painesville’s Art in the Park takes place August 17th.
