The library is located a few miles northeast of Mentor. Severa’s term will start immediately and run until July 2027. She will be taking up a seat on the board that vacated by Bishop Gerard Mirbel who completed his term in June.
Painesville has been home to Severa and her family for almost fifteen years. She also serves as the Downton Painesville Organization’s executive director and is a former employee of the Morley Library.
Over the course of her career, she has spent more than a decade working in academic and public libraries and that wealth of experience makes her a good fit for the board of directors at Morley Library. She has mentioned how passionate she is about preserving history for future generations.
When it was announced that Severa would be given the post, she said that:
“My main goals are to be a vigilant, engaging trustee that actively listens and supports solutions for the community, the library staff, and my fellow board members. In this way, I will bring the perspective and experience of many voices to the table.”
Severa recognizes that the public library plays an important role in keeping the public educated. She remembers it as a place where young people can embrace their love for literature.
