An exciting festival for the local community is coming up in late January.
Mentor Chill Out is a celebration meant to bring people together while creating unique memories. A variety of themed activities and displays will be available for attendees to explore throughout the day.
Several of the features will run for several hours each during the duration of the event, while some have a tighter timeframe. The ice carvings on display, as well as the demos and speed contest, will be done by professional artists and carvers. Demonstrations will start at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. The speed race will start at 2:00 pm.
Open to participation from guests, the brain freeze race will begin at 3:00 pm. Snowman-making competitions will be held at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. The Whiskey Tent, which is being provided by Red Eagle Distillery, will be open to those aged 21 or older from 11:30 am to 5:45 pm. Wagon rides will run from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
DJ Stray will be present for the entirety of the festivities. The fireworks display will run starting at 5:45 pm. Am ice-skating rink will be open to attendees from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, while the chili contest, featuring local food trucks Swensons and Barra De Taco, will kick off at 1:00 pm.
Entry to the event is free. Flyer printing is often chosen as a form of promotion for city events like this.
The celebration, being held at the Mentor Civic Center Park, will run from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 21. It is open to all ages.
