A mall in Mentor will be the venue for a charity event in early April.
March For Meals is a fundraising walk to help Meals On Wheels continue to serve the residents in the Lake County area, and is held annually. The Council On Aging is another piece behind this charity event, along with several sponsors. The march highlights the act of the then President Richard Nixon amending the Older Americans Act to add a national program for nutrition.
Attendees will walk one mile around Great Lakes Mall. Groups, individuals, or businesses can participate. Breakfast, a goodie bag with Promotional Products, and live music will all be available as well. There are several raffles online for different gift baskets that guests are able to participate in, with some of the themes being wine, baby gifts, and skincare.
To sponsor the walk, attendees can donate a custom amount, or one of the several tiers. These have different perks to them, a detailed explanation of which can be found on the March For Meals website. Some levels allow for the sponsor’s name to be displayed at not just the walk, but also a gala that will be held at a later date.
Tickets to the walk are $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 or younger. There is also a shirt available for $10. Registration begins at 8:00 am on April 2.
