A local painter will give young artists a lesson in a widely popular technique in late June.
Acrylic Pour Feather Canvas is a class that is part of the Color Me Crazy Art Corner series at the Wildwood Cultural Center. Heather Zimmerman will lead attendees through an exploration of the “acrylic pour painting” technique and how mixing different colors can produce beautiful results. Participants will create a unique piece of art emulating a feather in shape.
This art method requires more than just paints. Often, artists will use either a liquid medium or water in order to make their paint thin enough to achieve the desired results. There are many ways to distribute the color, each producing a different look. The artform is messy, so a level and covered workspace are also important.
This activity is open to children between the ages of 10 and 16, with prices of $22 for Mentor residents and $26 for those who are not. This price includes materials, games, and art trivia. In order to sign up, which has to be done prior to the date of the event, an account must be set up with the city’s website. Flyer printing is commonly used as promo for artistic lessons. The experience lasts from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 29.
