New tavern offers game night any night in Hamilton

Hamilton’s German Village has a new enterprise, a combination tavern and board game parlor.

‘A Game Knight’ was opened by Hamilton native Bryan Brunner with the goal of providing something different to the typical bar scene. His vision, as he had explained it to the Journal-News, was a place where family and friends could gather to eat, drink, and play board games.

Patrons can enjoy their choice of over 300 games from the Game Knight board game library, plus trivia leagues. While playing, customers can indulge in sandwiches, snacks, pizzas, and desserts. Beverages include wine cocktails, craft beer, coffee, tea, and soda.

Fun, family-friendly venues such as this one attract groups such as co-workers, as well as youth organizations and church groups who sometimes utilize a flyer printing service to spread the word and get a group together.

According to Brunner, Hamilton’s German Village was chosen as the location for his venture due to its booming economic renaissance, a part of which is The Marcum apartments and the planned for Champion Mill Spooky Nook Sports.

A Game Knight is located at 345 North 3rd St. and is open Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, and Saturday and Sundays 1:00 pm to 1:00 am. Minors are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult except during the hours of 8:00 pm to 1:00 am which are limited to those 18 years and older.
