The city of Hamilton has decided to develop a master plan for all Greater Miami riverfront property that falls within its borders and is asking the public to weigh-in.
In its quest to maximize the economic impact of land adjacent to the Greater Miami River, the city is concentrating on recreational features, river accessibility, and the enticement of businesses to the riverfront. The plan is to create a high level of activity around and on the river. Once the initial planning is over, printing companies are often employed to supply Copies of architect's renderings.
The Brooklyn, New York based W Architecture, LLC will be working with the city to optimize the riverfront. The company was founded by Barbara Wilks, a native of Hamilton in 1999, and has an international team of architects, landscape architects and urban designers at work around the globe. Wilks expressed her thoughts on the city’s goals for the river by saying:
“Hamilton has many wonderful assets. Rethinking the river is an opportunity to bring many of these assets together, creating a heart for the whole town to enjoy.”
Members of the public wishing to help guide a master plan for the riverfront are invited to come to the Plan Hamilton meeting at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 2.
