Hamilton recognized for small business engagement

For “Small Business Saturday” events, the Hamilton area has been identified as having the hardiest and most effective within southwest Ohio.

The Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce CEO, President Dan Bates, received a proclamation from American Express, the news of which was passed on to the Hamilton City Council. According to American Express, the naming of the Greater Hamilton area as the #1 Small Business Saturday city was based on the degree to which the community is engaged and involved.

According to Bates, the local community here is highly involved in the annual event, which extends beyond downtown Hamilton to include the city’s west side past the Main Street business corridor, as well as stores in Bridgewater Falls. Each years, Bates says the Chamber tries to grow the scope of the event.

Small Business Saturday is for some businesses and shops the biggest sales day of their year. Flyer printing can be of assistance by providing participating businesses with handouts they can pass along to shoppers. In addition to describing the various businesses, Copies of online maps may be made available as well so shoppers will know how to find their way between the businesses they want to visit.

Nationally, 47.3% of private sector workers are employed by small businesses. The 2019 Small Business Saturday will take place on November 30.
