Touch-a-Truck to roll into Fairfield

An activity is on the way for Fairfield that may appeal to both the young and the young at heart, and it will include a sensory-friendly attendance option.

The community’s Touch-a-Truck will be rolling into Village Green Park. It will open with a sensory friendly hour for those who have sensory processing issues or who just prefer a quieter experience.

The public that take a part can climb in, and on, an assortment of vehicles used by law enforcement, firefighters, city staff and local businesses. Everything from snow plows to ambulances, dump and other construction trucks, the book mobile and more will be parked on site to investigate. They can honk the horns and learn more about what the equipment does, and as there will be farm tractors included so the public will be able to learn more about where their food comes from. The activity will begin at 9:00 am, and will run for three hours.

Touch-a-truck and similar events give local residents the inside scoop on the equipment and people that keep their hometown humming along. Weatherproof signage for a public event can be ordered from a local poster printing company.

Fairfield’s Touch-a-Truck will welcome all ages on June 26th. Anyone who has a vehicle they would like to enter can find a form to do so on the community’s website.
