Fairfield offers touch-a-truck experience

Fairfield families are encouraged to save space in their agenda for an activity that will showcase an assortment of vehicles that help to keep the community humming along.

The Village Green will see a variety of rigs roll in for its Touch-a-Truck. It will be running for three hours, and there has been time built into its schedule to accommodate anyone with sensory processing issues, or who just prefers a more low-key experience.

The activity will see kids climb into the vehicles and learn how they operate. It is expected that there will be a variety of fire trucks and other first responder equipment on sites. Front-end loaders, bulldozers and other construction vehicles will also be in the mix, and everyone can honk the horns and meet those who work with the equipment every day. Food trucks will be parked on site for anyone who would like to order a snack or lunch.

The organizers have put out a call to the local community seeking additional vehicles for the occasion. Lunch will be provided at the Community Arts Center Veranda. Organizers often choose to have bespoke certificates prepared by Stationery printers to present to those who helped make a function a success.

Fairfield is set to see its Touch-a-Truck event held on Friday, June 26. The free festivities will take place at Village Green Park from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon, with the first hour being sensory friendly.
