Fairfield welcomes return of car parade and show

For more than 70 years, a summer activity has attracted classic car fans from Fairfield and further abroad, and this celebration is set to make its return.

The 71st annual Antique and Classic Car Parade of Hamilton and Fairfield is coming fast, and it will wrap up July with an afternoon of fun. It is expected that it will include hundreds of cars and other entries, and the host for the occasion will be the Classic and Antique and Classic Car Club of Butler County.

The cars will be on exhibit starting in the early morning, and while the public enjoys the experience the judges will be circulating before making their decision about which ones are the top entries. Just before 1:00 pm, a police siren will sound to alert everyone that it's almost time for the parade, and a second one will indicate that the procession will start. The activity will wind up at Village Green Park, and the awards will be presented.

Cars shows often attract gearheads and others who simply enjoy the beauty and design of classic vehicles. Dash plaques can be ordered from a printing services company by host clubs to present to the participating owners to thank them for making an activity a success.

The 71st Annual Antique and Classic Car Parade of Hamilton and Fairfield will be taking to the streets of the community on July 26th. The parade is set to begin at the Butler County Courthouse.
