Five years ago, the first Fairfield Parade of Lights took to the city’s streets in celebration of the holiday season, and it will soon be returning for another year.
This well-loved local tradition tends to attract lots of spectators to the area every year. This time, the parade will depart from its staging area that is due to be set up at Waterworks Park. It will include lots of colorful, twinkling lights, and there’s lots of fun on the agenda.
Along with the lighted parade, the plans for the evening include a pop-up vendor market, live performances, and other activities. Everyone can enjoy a meet and greet with a live penguin from Newport Aquarium; this will be taking place in the Fairfield Community Arts Center from 5:00pm to 5:45pm. There will also be a children’s craft table set up, the opening of the city’s Festival of Trees, and a handout of tags for the Giving Tree.
As well as the indoor activities, the function will boast an outdoor scavenger hunt, food trucks and a beer garden. Many local business and charitable groups will have a float or other entry in the parade, and they may be handing out small Promotional Products along the way.
