Fairfield shows movies outdoors

When the weather warms up, a number of communities start taking indoor activities outdoors, including plays and films.

In Fairfield, the Fire Department does duty as the host of a series of films, shown in Village Green Park on various Fridays throughout the summer, partnering with the Parks and Recreation Department to set up the Movies in the Park events. Although some of the films have been canceled, there is still time to catch two family favorites.

“Toy Story 4” is on the schedule for later in the summer. The film is the latest in the wildly successful “Toy Story” franchise, made for Disney by Pixar Animation Studios. The voice actors from the previous three films, including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, are back.

Also upcoming is “Frozen II,” from Disney. A sequel to the hit “Frozen,” this film from the Walt Disney Animation Studios continues the adventures of Elsa and her friends from the first film, featuring many of the same voice actors.

Part of the fun of the evenings is provided by the Fire Department, who give away items such as water bottles, blankets, and lawn chairs before the movies start.

“Toy Story 4” will be shown on July 17, and “Frozen II” will run on September 4, a rescheduling of this film from June 5. The movies start at dusk. Banner printing can provide colorful decorations for outdoor events like this, since Banners are sturdy and can be reused.
