Dr. Seuss's cat coming to Fairfield, wearing his hat

The classic children's book ‘The Cat in the Hat’ has been adapted for both stage and screen, and Fairfield residents will be able to see the live production, as the winsome animal in the goofy hat makes his way to the Fairfield Community Arts Center for a single show.

‘The Cat in the Hat’ is the story of a feline in a towering, red-and-white-striped top hat, who shows up one day at the home of Sally and her brother along with his companions, Thing One and Thing Two. They do tricks, try to entertain the children, and in the process, nearly destroy the house. Just as the children's mother returns, the cat uses a machine to clean everything up.

The play will be performed by professional actors from the Children's Theatre of Cincinnati, as part of their TCT on Tour program. TCT performs in various venues in and around Cincinnati, bringing professional, live theater to people who might otherwise not be able to see a show.

The Cat in the Hat is scheduled for October 20, from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, with doors open at 6:30 pm. The arts center is at 411 Wessel Drive, and tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids ages 12 and under. Tickets are available online now.
