Walking for health in Dublin

An upcoming walk in Dublin will support research into a specific cancer and support those battling the disease.

The PanCAN PurpleStride Columbus 2024 is one of approximately 60 similar events taking place throughout the nation. People are walking to put an end to pancreatic cancer and to honor those who have been lost.

The walk is a fundraiser that will help pancreatic cancer patients by providing free personalized resources and support by PanCAN’s Patient Services, as well as free molecular testing via PanCAN. This will help support PanCAN’s research into ways to detect the disease early, accelerating treatment and improving survival rates.

Organizers suggest that people become Team Captains and ask their friends and family to join. Teams will be able to set their own goals for raising money, and event organizers will provide as much support as needed.

Registration is free, and those who sign up will have their own PanCAN PurpleStride Dashboard. The dashboard contains everything a team captain needs to organize their event, including pre-written messages to send to friends and family, and a page tracking their fundraising.

Those who register and raise $50 or more will be given an official event T-shirt, and those who raise $1000 or more will be admitted to the PanCAN PurpleStride Grand Club.

PanCAN PurpleStride Columbus 2024 is scheduled for April 27 at Coffman Park in Dublin. Organizers of this type of event often work with banner printing to create signage to mark the course.
