Sweet time for Dublin wannabe chefs

A Dublin bakery is holding a camp for aspiring pastry chefs.

Our CupCakery is organizing its WandOURland baking camp and says attendees will be able to create desserts good enough for Alice to serve to her friends. Young chefs will make fondant, meringue roses and mushrooms, clock sugar cookies with a surprise inside, fruit filled pop tarts with a playing card theme, cupcakes decorate with fondant, and a 2-D cake shaped like a tea pot.

The camp is designed for youngsters from ages 8-14, and the budding chefs will be able to take recipes and tasty treats home with them.

Attendees are asked to bring labeled lunches and water bottles; bring aprons; wear shoes with closed toes; and pull back long hair. Those with exceptionally long hair should braid it. The bakery advises they are not a gluten free, nut free, or vegan facility. Flyer printing can be used to create instructional materials for events like this.

Although the course has sold out, there is a wait list available. Anyone who is interested is urged to sign up, as there is a possibility the bakery could add more spaces. This is the 17th year for the Future Pastry Chef Camp, and the fun starts July 12 and goes through July 15, from 9.30 am until 3.00 pm each day. The venue is Our CupCakery on Dublin’s High Street. COVID-19 protocols in place at the time of the camps will be followed.
