Special day in Dublin

A day that brings Dublin together is once again on the calendar.

Volunteers will organize to help others on Dublin’s Community Service Day 2023. Participants will be able to help non-profit organizations, Dublin City Schools, neighbors in need, and older adults in the area with outdoor projects and a general spring clean-up.

Those who are interested can volunteer as individuals or as members of the group, and people of all ages are needed, although those under 18 years of age need to have a parent or guardian with them for the entire day. It is also necessary for participants to sign a waiver.

Volunteers will meet and register at the Dublin Community Recreation Center on Post Road on the day of the event. Registration will be held from 8:30 am until 9:00 am, at which time team leaders will meet with the volunteers to discuss their specific assignments. They will also be given a volunteer T-shirt, as long as supplies last, and pick up supplies, water, and head to their specified area.

Since all projects are outside, volunteers should dress for the weather. Organizers suggest volunteers bring bottled water, gardening and landscaping tools, sunscreen, and work or garden gloves. Organizers also suggest volunteers wear sturdy work shoes or boots, and label everything with their phone number and name.

The Community Service Day is Saturday, May 6. Organizers of this type of event can use flyer printing to create a description of the work to be done.
