New brick-and-mortar store coming to Dublin

At a time when many stores are shutting up their physical premises and concentrating on online sales, one retailer is going the other way.

Alma Mater, an Apparel company inspired by vintage clothing, plans to open a brick-and-mortar store in Dublin's new development, Bridge Park, according to an article in Columbus Business First.

Alma Mater was started in 2009 by Amanda Sima, and has been online only ever since. Now, the Columbus-based retailer will open at 6564 Longshore Street, in a small shop 574 feet square.

The brand focuses on college and college-age customers, and knits sweaters and other themed clothing. The well-named company has 157 NCAA licenses, including local institutions like Miami University, Ohio University, and Ohio State University.

Bridge Park is a Crawford Hoying development, and its principal, Bob Hoying, said his company loves “partnering with retailers that connect with the local community.” Bridge Park is a mixed-used community that offers housing units, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, all in a walkable neighborhood.

Zachary Traxler, Alma Mater's new CEO, previously announced the company was planning to open a physical store. He now says the company plans to offer accessories and high school apparel in addition to their college items, and thinks Dublin will be a perfect location.

Companies like this can use flyer printing to help call attention to the store opening.
