Independence Day party planned in Dublin

Dublin is getting ready to celebrate the nation’s birthday with a full day of fun on July 4th itself.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is presenting the first event, which is the Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby. The derby begins at 8:00 am at Avery Pond, located at the corner of Avery Road and Wynford Drive.

At 11.00 am, the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus is presenting the Independence Day Parade. The parade begins at the Metro Center in Historic Dublin.

The evening celebration is next, beginning at 4:30 pm, with entertainment headlined by Gary LeVox. LeVox, an Ohio native, won fame as the lead singer of Rascal Flatts, a country-pop outfit.

LeVox, Joe Don Rooney, and Jay DeMarcus were the founding members of the group, which formed in 2000. The group merged traditional country tunes with the showmanship of rock groups and some pop, which resulted in sales of over 23 million albums, 17 singles that hit No. 1, over 11 million concert tickets sold, and over 40 awards. LeVox is now a solo artist, but some of his old friends will be with him at the concert, which will be held at Dublin Coffman High School.

The days winds up with fireworks at 9:50 pm, which will be presented by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

When events like this are scheduled, organizers can work with flyer printing to create directional Signs that can be posted throughout the area.
