Fundraiser set for Dublin

A triathlon has been scheduled for Dublin as a fundraiser to find a cure for a chronic disease.

The Little Hercules Foundation is the sponsor of an Indoor Triathlon designed to raise awareness, as well as money, for research efforts into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most common form of the disease. The disease affects boys more often than girls, and is usually diagnosed by the time the youngster is five years of age. At present, there is no cure, but events like this are designed to help researchers find one.

The Triathlon has been designed to be fun, without any pressure on participants to do more than enjoy themselves. The event is a true triathlon, as it comprises running, biking, and swimming, but it takes place entirely indoors, and should appeal to experienced athletes as well as those who have never taken part in such a contest before.

The three events are: running on an indoor track for 20 minutes; riding an indoor bike for 30 minutes; and swimming for ten minutes in a lap pool, with a depth of from four to ten feet. The divisions will be divided by gender.

The Indoor Triathlon will take place at the Dublin Recreation Center on February 23, from 7:00 am until 12:00 noon. Banner printing can be used to provide colorful and appropriate decorations for events like this.
