The hero of a popular series of children's Books will be on hand in Dublin soon, welcoming the new year with songs and fun.
The Columbus Children's Center is presenting its production of “Pete the Cat,” based on the books by Kim and James Dean, who left the business world to pursue their love of creative work.
Among other notable attributes, Pete is blue, plays guitar and sings, and is the epitome of the phrase “cool cat.” In this adventure, he moves in with the Biddles, a normal family, and shows off his moves. Everyone in the family seems to be charmed by Pete's antics, except Jimmy. He does not share his family's enthusiasm for Pete and his rock and roll until his art project goes wonky, and Pete jumps in to help. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for events like this.
The show is only an hour long, and is suitable for young children. Pete will be at the Dublin Community Recreation Center's Abbey Theater beginning Friday, January 17 and running through February 1. Performances on Thursdays and Fridays are at 7:00 pm; on Saturdays, the curtain goes up at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:30 pm; and on Sundays the shows are at 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm. There is no performance on Thursday, January 16, and there is no intermission.
