An upcoming event in Dublin will keep people warm this winter.
The “Warm Up Columbus” Marathon has been held annually since 2001. Runners can use this race to get ready for other marathons like the OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon or the Boston Marathon.
The course is a one-mile loop, which is very friendly to race spectators, who can see the race easily. The runners will enjoy 26 support/fluid stations and restrooms will be placed each mile around the course. All the races will be run on this loop including the 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, and team relay races. Runners will simply have to circle the course as many times as necessary to add up to their preferred distance.
Those who are running the full marathon are advised that they will start by running 0.2 miles, and then making 26 laps around the course for the full 26.2 mile distance. When organizers design events like this, they will often work with banner printing to create course markers for the route.
For the first time this year, Karhu and Fleet Feet are donating Teddy Bears to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for every participant who registers. Runners can donate additional bears when the register, or even buy a bear to take home. In addition, a Kids’ Run has been added this year, and each child entered will receive a bear when they finish the race. The Kids’ Run is free. “Warm Up Columbus” is scheduled for February 2.
