Dublin offers incentives to Cardinal Health

On Monday, April 25, the Dublin City Council agreed to provide an incentives package to Cardinal Health, which will remain in the community.

Dublin will increase the size of a parking lot, located at 5100 Rings Road, as part of the package. The price tag for enlarging the lot is $2.5m to $3m.

In response, Cardinal Health will lease the property for 12 years, from 2018 to 2030, and keep more than 2,000 jobs in the city. The total amount of the incentives adds up to $3.3m to $3.8m, and includes giving the organization access to the city's fiber system, known as Dublink. Dublin officials say the deal will bring in about $27.2m during the period of the lease.

Cardinal Health currently occupies about 936,000 square feet in various spaces in Dublin, where it has close to 5,000 employees. According to the director of economic development for Dublin, Colleen Gilger, moving to the Rings Road site will allow the organization to consolidate its operations in one spot. Company officers said they expected to start moving employees to the new spaces during the first six months of 2018.

Since the company will be consolidated, it has an opportunity to create new, up-to-date Letterheads to reflect its new address and other contact information, particularly as it attaches to the Dublink system.
