Dublin goes green dawn till dusk for St Paddys Day

Dublin is proud of its Irish heritage and will be going all out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The city is planning an entire day of fun including the main event, “The Greenest, Grandest Parade” it can muster. This year’s parade will step off from the Metro Center and wind through Historic Dublin. The parade will comprise about 110 groups including floats, equestrian teams, marching bands, and antique or novelty vehicles.

The fun begins with an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast to be held at Sells Middle School, from 7.00 am until 11.00 am. Then the parade runs from 11.00 am until 12.15 pm.

The Downtown Dublin St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl starts at 1.00 pm. People enjoying the crawl and the drink and food specials will be able to use the Shamrock Shuttle that runs between the restaurants and bars in Historic Dublin and Bridge Park. People on the crawl will have “passports,” and those who show five or more pub stops on their passport can enter a contest to win a Pot O’ Gold Grand Prize Package.

In addition, Dublin provides DORA, the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. People can purchase an adult beverage at a participating establishment and stop in the DORA to enjoy it before continuing their stroll through the downtown.

Although St. Patrick’s Day is March 17, Dublin is scheduling its events on Saturday, March 15. Organizers of major events like this will often opt to use banner printing to create decorations that can be used outdoors.
