Dublin is getting ready to party in honor of the nation’s birthday. Activities will include a parade, fireworks, and a concert.
The fun starts early, at Avery Pond, where the Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby begins at 8.00 am. Participants compete in four groups according to age: 6 and under; 7-9 years of age; 10-12 years of age; and 13 and older. Participants in all four divisions will win prizes if they catch the longest fish. They also need to bring their own bait and fishing poles.
A parade is usually part of 4th of July celebrations everywhere, and Dublin is no exception. Here, the parade begins at West Bridge Street at 11.00 am, with giant inflatable characters an important part of the event. Marching bands, Irish dancers, bagpipers, and floats will be part of the fun.
In the evening, live entertainment is on the schedule. The Dublin Coffman High School gates will open at 4.30 pm, and there will be live music preceding the headliner, Martina McBride. McBride is a country singer who has released 14 albums, dropping her latest, “It’s the Holiday Season,” in 2018. Eight of her albums have won Gold and Platinum certifications.
The day will be capped off with a fireworks display scheduled for 9.50 pm. When huge events like this are planned, organizers will often contact Print shops, who will use banner printing to create fun holiday decorations.Get a Free Quote for Print
