The developer behind the Bridge Park project is now proposing to include a field house, and would like to hear what Dublin residents and its city council think of the idea.
Crawford Hoying is the development company and its principal, Bob Hoying, said he wanted the community to be excited and informed about the project, especially because he feels he would like to put tenants in the spaces who go beyond retailers and restaurants. This is why he is enthusiastic about companies like Pins Mechanical Company, an entertainment venue that offers all kinds of ball games—pinball, foosball, and so on; and 16-Bit Bar+Arcade. This diversity is why he is proposing a field house.
If approved, the facility will have two stories, and offer 150,000 square feet for athletic events of all kinds. It could also host as many as 5,000 people at special events, and would have 16 volleyball courts, and eight courts for basketball. Developers on projects like this can use brochure printing to create informative Booklets for residents.
Scott Dring, who is the Dublin Convention and Visitors Bureau's executive director, said he felt the field house would be good for Dublin, because it would bring in more visitors to the city, and create jobs. He added that the bureau has been searching for a long time for a way to bring visitors to the city, especially on weekends, and in fall and winter. The field house and sports events there would be a real draw, he says.
