Dublin is building a new branch library and recently started construction. However, the Dublin City Council has asked the library to make some changes to the plans, specifically to some of the Signs to be used in the new parking structure, and the library itself.
Staff members expect to come before the council again in August, and present revised designs at that time, according to Dublin's director of communications, Sue Burness.
The signs included in the original proposal were a sign for each facade of the garage that faces a street; signs inside the garage that help people find their way around; six signs for the garage itself; two window signs to be mounted at the library's two main entrances; and one at ground level that would be the main library sign.
Councilmembers asked representatives of the library if it would be possible for them increase the height of the ground sign's base. They also wondered if the library could be more creative with the sign, without losing their brand.
The library's Alison Circle said increasing the height of the base would be simple, but she would need further information from city staffers as to what the council meant by creativity, but added most of the requested changes should be easy to carry out.
Situations like this give officials a chance to reconsider, and perhaps change, their Logo Design, and Print shops can help.
